PRINCIPAL MESSAGEDear Parents, Guardians and Students, Whoever said that winter in New England is long and dreary? Until recently, we were enjoying a snow-free winter and were not shoveling our driveways. Beside the recent snow fall, we can say that a lot has been happening here to keep everyone energized and positive at BMR. We look forward to Spring athletics, music, and fundraising events! Please review our newsletter for most recent happenings and scheduled events. I know we are only in the 3rd quarter but we need to look ahead to next year and review our course selection process. Please be on the lookout for emails and workshops to help you guide your daughter/son in choosing courses for next year! Quarter 3 Progress Reports will be posted onto X2 and will be available in your parent portal as a PDF file. We invite you to review your daughter/sons' Progress Report and contact your students teachers should you have any questions or concerns. Do not miss out on the many events planned for March and April. We would love to see you there! Happy (almost) Spring! CHARGER STRONG. Sincerely, Michael Dudek [email protected] 2nd Quarter Honor Roll - Congratulations Students! How can you help? Make school attendance a priority • Talk about the importance of showing up to school everyday, make that the expectation. • Help your child maintain daily routines, such as finishing homework and getting a good night’s sleep. • Try not to schedule dental and medical appointments during the school day. • Don’t let your child stay home unless truly sick. Complaints of headaches or stomach aches may be signs of anxiety. Help your teen stay engaged • Find out if your child feels engaged by his classes and feels safe from bullies and other threats. Make sure he/she is not missing class because of behavioral issues and school discipline policies. If any of these are problems, work with your school. • Stay on top of academic progress and seek help from teachers or tutors if necessary. Make sure teachers know how to contact you. • Stay on top of your child’s social contacts. Peer pressure can lead to skipping school, while students without many friends can feel isolated. • Encourage meaningful afterschool activities, including sports and clubs.
