Hello Charger Students, Parents and Guardians,
We hope this update finds you well! I would like to update everyone on a few items as we move ahead in our distance learning model. -Please check your emails for zoom links inviting you to our "Coffee and Connect" sessions. We have a variety of topics to discuss and look forward to "seeing you" in the future. Our most recent session was on "College and Career Planning." -Parents/Students who are looking for additional academic support should contact [email protected]. The district would like to partner with families and set up 1 to 1 tutoring for any students who need support in areas of math and Literacy. These sessions would occur outside of the 10-12:30pm designated learning times. -Families and students have been asked to retrieve any personal items remaining in the building. Time slots are on May 21st and May 22nd. Please check your emails for this update. Students have access to the google form to fill out a time slot. -BMRSD will have a Professional Development Day this Friday, May 22nd. Students are asked to continue with their assignments and turn them into their teachers. No live instruction will occur on Friday. -There has been a lot of discussion around teacher and student feedback (on assignments). Please know that we value and will continue to prioritize giving consistent, timely, and targeted feedback to students. Please note that feedback is given in a variety of ways and posted differently by teacher. If you would like to be provided with specific feedback that you daughter/son is being given, please reach out to the teacher. A majority of feedback is provided through Google Classroom submission, individual rubrics, and verbally through Google Hangout and Chat. -Parents, we have received important news from Commissioner Riley, and the Mass. Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. The commissioner has released standards that will be our academic focus over the remaining two months of school. We are creating a repository for helpful lessons and videos to assist our students with engaging in these standards. If you or your child have questions on any of this work moving forward, this repository will be a great resource. Information will be uploaded over the next several days, and continue as we move forward. Please check back soon for additional details. CLICK HERE FOR A LIST OF RESOURCES -During this time, finding balance in our lives may be challenging. Please know that we place the health and well-being of our staff, students, and families above all else. Find time to enjoy one another, stay engaged, be curious, and reach out whenever you need help.
